Job Purpose:
As a Student Recruitment Events and Digital Marketing Assistant you will be
working as part of the Recruitment and International Relations team, which is
part of the External Relations Directorate. This Directorate, of over 200 staff
is responsible for attracting the very best students from across the UK and the
world to our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Directorate generates over £200 million in international tuition fee income for the University of Glasgow (UofG).

The International Recruitment Team is responsible for meeting the challenging
international KPIs as laid out in the Global Glasgow strategy and plays a major
part in its wider ambitions, supporting the development of the University’s
network of partners across the world and working closely with external
facilitators such as agents and government ministries.

You will be expected to liaise with all levels of academic and administrative
personnel, including senior University management, venue providers and other
suppliers. You will produce timely itineraries, briefings, reports, and content
intended for use on social media. You will act as first point of contact for
enquiries from applicants, schools, agents and other stakeholders of the
University in China. You will respond swiftly and effectively to all enquiries
and maintain excellent customer relations at all times

Main Duties:

Event Management
1.
To lead and manage logistical arrangements for multiple high-profile recruitment, careers and alumni focused events and delegations across China annually, including vendor coordination and client communications.
2.
To liaise with the University Marketing team to create event collateral, to be used during events and coordinate with Marketing team and Recruitment team for event set-up, including venue layout, AV equipment and catering; and to oversee
smooth execution of the event.
3.
To assist UofG senior staff on visits to the region e.g. to support recruitment events, or to meet with key partners across the region.
4.
To produce briefing documents for University staff for visits to China, and Chinese delegation visits to UofG.
5.
To support Careers in employability initiatives for Chinese students and recent graduates, working closely with the International Employability Manager to produce timely reports analysing event performance, collating feedback from UofG staff and stakeholders.

Delivery of Recruitment Activities

To support during a wide range of online and offline recruitment and conversion activities across the region as required, including representing and promoting the
University to stakeholders at both online and offline education exhibitions,
fairs, conferences, and webinars.
7.
To maintain, update, and create where necessary, overseas recruitment databases. To produce and analyse data for presentation and reporting purposes.
8.
To contribute to market research for China, including semester reports, contributing to Market Assessments and providing regular statistical and trend analysis, and horizon scanning for this region.
9.
Support, advise on, and execute when necessary, compliance related activities associated with international student recruitment, ensuring that the University upholds its standards and reputation in the market.
10.
To produce timely reports analysing event performance, collating feedback from UofG staff and stakeholders.
11.
Identify alumni for alumni case studies to share with prospective students.

Social Media Activity Delivery
12.
To create a variety of content for the University’s Chinese social media platforms,
including coverage of events and recruitment activities in the form of articles
and videos, in collaboration with the Recruitment, Marketing and Communications teams based in Glasgow and China. This includes reviewing and sense-checking materials with central teams to ensure consistency in tone and branding.
13.
To monitor social media engagement and online conversations, provide feedback to the Recruitment, Marketing and Communications teams, and moderate groups on Chinese social media platforms such as WeChat. This may also involve occasionally assisting with responses to recruitment-related enquiries, or directing questions to relevant teams.
14.
To share in-country insights and audience feedback with central teams, contributing to a more informed and effective content strategy.
15.
To facilitate agent communications with the University by creating a recruitment focused newsletter, and support agent related activities in China.
16.
Be able to handle any ad hoc workload assigned by University of Glasgow China team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Undergraduate Degree level education in an English-speaking country

Up to date knowledge of education systems and government policy in China

At least 1 year (up to 3 years preferred) experience of planning, organising and delivering events.

Experience of managing and processing data.

At least 1 year (up to 3 years preferred) experience and passion for using
Chinese social media channels (such as WeChat, Weibo, RedNote/Xiaohongshu, BiliBili, Duoyin etc) in content creation in article writing, video recording and formatting and be able to assist with social media listening, delivering time sensitive newsletters and collating social media reports.

CBBC offer competitive packages which include basic gross salary, social insurance, medical insurance, housing fund and generous leave entitlement.

The gross monthly package for this position is from RMB 13,000 with annual pro rata leave entitlement of 22-days for Chinese nationals.
