Your Mission
This is a critical, dual-focused role designed to protect our most important assets: our people, our planet, and our reputation. The Global Health, Safety & ESG Lead will be the cornerstone of our operational integrity in our most critical production region.
You will be responsible for building, implementing, and overseeing world-class Health & Safety (H&S) and Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) programs directly within our supply chain and manufacturing operations. Your mission is to ensure not only compliance with the strictest standards but also to foster a culture of safety and sustainability that aligns with EnerVenue's global values.
Positional Targets and Outcomes

? Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive H&S management system for EnerVenue-owned and partner manufacturing facilities in China, aligned with ISO 45001.
? Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and behavioral safety observations on the production floor, focusing on high-risk activities like chemical handling, heavy machinery, and electrical safety.
? Lead incident investigations for any near-misses, injuries, or safety events, ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective actions are implemented.
? Develop and deliver targeted H&S training programs for all levels of the workforce, from operators to plant management, in local languages.

? Environmental: Oversee environmental compliance at production sites, focusing on waste management, wastewater discharge, air emissions, and chemical management. Drive initiatives for energy efficiency, water reduction, and circular economy principles in manufacturing.
? Social: Implement and audit robust social responsibility programs within the supply chain, ensuring strict adherence to EnerVenue's Supplier Code of Conduct. This includes labor practices, working hours, fair wages, workplace safety standards and ensuring a safe and respectful workplace.
? Governance: Establish the data collection and reporting framework for key ESG metrics (e.g., TRIR, LTIR, carbon footprint, waste recycling rates) from Chinese operations for global sustainability reporting (e.g., ESG, GRI).
Cross-Functional Leadership and Compliance:
? Serve as the primary point of contact for all H&S and ESG matters for our China and US operations, liaising with internal stakeholders (Operations, Supply Chain, Legal) and external bodies (auditors, regulators, clients).
? Ensure full compliance with all local (Chinese and US) national and provincial H&S and environmental regulations, as well as international standards required by global customers and investors.
? Manage the relationship with, and performance of, third-party H&S and ESG auditors in the region.
Requirements
? A minimum of five years of direct, hands-on experience in a combined Health & Safety and environmental/ESG role, with a significant portion spent within a manufacturing or industrial setting in China.
? Deep, practical knowledge of Chinese and US Health, Safety, and Environmental laws and regulations. Proven experience implementing programs that pass rigorous customer and third-party audits (e.g., for multinational corporations).
? Technical expertise in industrial safety, chemical management, and environmental compliance relevant to battery manufacturing or a related chemical/electrical industry.
? Experience with international management system standards: ISO 45001 (H&S), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and responsible sourcing frameworks.
? Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English is essential, both written and spoken.
? Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related scientific field.
Ideal Profile and Competencies
? Diplomatic Influencer: You possess the cultural fluency and interpersonal skills to effectively influence and train teams at all levels, from factory workers to senior plant management, in a complex environment.
? Hands-On Problem Solver: You are not a remote policy writer. You are on the production floor, in the wastewater plant, and in the audit room, identifying risks and implementing practical solutions.
? Resilient and Ethical: You have the fortitude to uphold global standards and ethical practices even when facing local pressure or resistance. You are the guardian of EnerVenue's values.
? Data-Driven: You use data from incidents, audits, and environmental metrics to drive decision-making and demonstrate continuous improvement.
