To play a key role in the provision of a safe, healthy and caring school environment.
Working with the Head of Boarding/Deputy Head (Pastoral), to provide care and medical support/advice predominantly to the school’s boarding community.
To take responsibility for the oversight of sick students, and liaison with parents.
To share in the discharge of boarding duties.
The School Nurse will be responsible for all health-related issues within school. These duties will include:
1. the treatment of students’ minor ailments on a day-to-day basis;
2. the administration of medicines to individual students, as requested and authorized by the student’s parent(s);
3. developing, overseeing and managing the school’s health education programme:
4. working with teaching staff to provide age-related health education programmes documentation and teaching materials;
5. actively promoting healthy lifestyles and habits, both within the classroom and outside;
6. organizing ‘awareness drives’, focusing on healthy living themes throughout the year;
7. actively contributing to the delivery of an appropriate *** education programme, as appropriate;
8. promotion of health and safety issues, to include hygiene, in and around the school, with specific reference to catering;
9. liaising closely with the Boarding, to include providing an emergency advisory service out of hours, if and when required.
10. maintaining appropriate medical records (including through the school’s BEAM database);
informing teachers about the nature of students’ medical conditions;
11. liaising closely with parents for medical and health-related issues.
The School Nurse will be part of the residential community and will perform the following duties:
1. oversight, where required, of boarding students;
2. sharing the duty rota with the residential boarding team;
3. undertaking additional tasks as may reasonably be expected by the Deputy Head (Pastoral).
Duties, discipline in the boarding house；
4. Together with the other boarding staff you will:
5. participate as required in boarding duties and rotas;
6. insist on a calm, purposeful residential atmosphere;
7. ensure that students arrive on time for meals and lessons;
8. ensure that all students are wearing school uniform;
9. ensure that the rules and regulations are upheld, for students and parents alike;
10. perform boarding duties as required, to include cover for absent colleagues;
11. undertake homework, supervisory and private study oversight, as required;
12. actively contribute to the running of a well-ordered boarding community, where both rules and the interests of other stakeholders are respected;
13. care for sick students, accompanying them as required for hospital visits and communicating at all stages with parents and school management;
14. upholding the predominance of English within the boarding community wherever possible, and translating into Chinese where required;
15.checking student planners for homework completion and taking remedial action, where necessary, supervising students who need extra time to complete homework tasks; counselling students who may have emotional or personal difficulties.
Candidate Requirement & Skills 任職要求
1. Bachelor degree or above, major in Nursey

2. Experience in education or overseas study industry is preferred; Ability to read and write English is preferred
