FUNDAMENTAL
PURPOSE:

The incumbent manages
all Raw Material Sourcing activities for designated categories of chemical for
coatings (detail portfolio to be confirmed later), establish and implement the
Raw Material Sourcing strategy through supplier management and team
interaction.
REQUIRES:

Category Managers lead the competitive sourcing of spend
categories through :

Understanding current and future business requirements
·
In-depth market and supplier analyses over the short, medium and
long term
·
Developing and aligning stakeholders to challenge sourcing strategies
·
Delivering value through negotiation and partnering with suppliers
·
Managing change and mitigating risk

Portfolios can be of a value between 50 and 150 million USD’s depending on complexity and experience.

Major
Responsibilities include:
1. Establish/deploy sourcing strategy for designated
categories of chemical for coating by integrating business strategy and implement the strategy accordingly.
2. Take accountability to do supplier development and manage new or existing supplier,
reduce or eliminate single source and manage supply risk.
3. Master suppliers and
material category portfolio, it’s upstream feedstock and downstream applications’
market outlook and timely react to market change for strategic sourcing
direction
4. Manage competitive contract negotiation or RFP(bidding process) for total ownership cost reduction and
follow contract strategery review & contract approval and documentation process in epro.
5. Develop
innovative sourcing approaches using Cost Value analytics and Strategic
Sourcing Plan (SSP) knowledge to determine scenarios, benefits, risks and
change management impact of each of those options
6. Provide timely designated material category Raw Material Index
(RMI) with proper rationale.
7. Organize
supplier meeting and supplier visit regularly with objectives and documented valuable
information of supplier profile, strength and weaknesses, potential projects or
improvement etc..
9. Update
cost saving and working capital improvement projects into system; provide weekly
report as per required format of designated material category on timely basis
10. Share and support as appropriate to Procurement SBU Liaison or
Site Procurement Operation team market information, sourcing strategy, key
projects and supplier performance and working capital improvement
11.
Provide price list with details required to Procurement Data team on timely
manner for price upload.
12. Identify
cost reduction opportunity and communicate with related stakeholders to make it
happen.
