Job Overview
Plans, designs, executes and manages the test effort both to the business and IT organization to secure that the quality of the developed and deployed solution meets the demands stated in requirements and acceptance criteria.
Starts with creating testware based on test design techniques, performing appropriate tests and capturing the test output. Can also be in charge of handling all test activities and acts as a test management representative for the IT test team towards the business.
Arranges the support needed for the User Acceptance Test (UAT).
The unique combination of analytical and technical skills together with understanding of business requirements and domain knowledge allows the tester to verify the quality of the product.
Responsibilities and Duties
Create and maintain test cases and test scenarios, gather and manage test data
Execute manual test cases as per defined criteria and maintain test results
Track defect(s) and ensure all required details are added while reporting a defect
Plan, deploy and manage test team and test activities
Ensure test requirements are reviewed, clear and testable
Identify and describe opportunities for non-functional test activities
Co-ordinate with various stakeholders to get adequate requirement details to test
Ensure that manual / automated test scripts are reviewed and all review comments are closed
Maintain traceability between test / project artifacts
Provide inputs to the project manager / delivery manager and the project team about potential risks, current quality of the product and status of test activities
Ensure all defects are correctly reported, analyzed, assigned or escalated when needed
Support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure that the test data is correct
Estimate effort of software testing based on provided requirements
Secure that review process is implemented and all test artifacts are reviewed as per standard review process
Coach junior testers at previous step(s)
English proficient in listening, speaking, reading and writing
